A New Tooth and A New Book

Ellany recently lost a front tooth! Adam pulled it out on the Fourth of July, after they came home from watching fireworks. It seemed like that thing was wiggly forever! I am a little sad because her new teeth will make her look older...I don't want her to grow up!
Ellany's current favorite book is "The Napping House". It is a really cute story about a granny, a child and a bunch of animals that pile on a bed for a nap. A flea comes along and bites the mouse, which causes a hilarious chain reaction - and in the end nobody is napping anymore! We have a DVD that has made an animated version of the book, and Ellany has been watching it a lot. Recently she got out an old photo album and brought me this photo...
...pointed to the book she was holding in the pic and exclaimed, "The Napping House"! I had completely forgotten about this photo, but she remembered it. It was taken when we lived in Ocala, and Ellany was only 2 or 3. Ellany tore that book apart (you always hurt the ones you love) and it was thrown away a long time ago. After showing me the photo, Ellany started asking me to buy her the book...several times every day. I finally bought it online and she waited anxiously for it to be delivered. You should have seen how thrilled she was when the package arrived!! Here is Ellany with her new, big copy.

Now she watches the video while following along in the book - one of her favorite activities. Here is our happy girl! :0)
