My parents returned from their month long road trip today, and took us out to dinner at Perkins. Taking Ryker to a restaurant without a playground was a very brave thing for us to do. He doesn't sit still for long periods of time, and when he gets tired of sitting he yells "Get out!" and then screams. We managed to make it through dinner with only a handful of screaming outbursts. I got my dessert "to go" so we could quickly make our exit.
On our way out of the restaurant, we passed an elderly couple. Ellany was carrying her doll and the woman asked what the doll's name was. Ellany told her Sophie's name, then leaned over to look in the woman's coffee cup. "Coffee is yucky! Blech!!", she declared with gusto. The woman said, "Oh, but it's tea!" as Ellany ran off to the car. If she had stayed to reply, I'm sure she would have informed the woman that tea is yucky too. Ellany definitely never minces words...and speaks the truth!

Got to love honesty! :) Amazing you made it through dinner...that can be challenging enough when you're at home, let alone in public :) Hope you enjoyed your dessert!
ReplyDeleteCailin is hard to eat out with, now, too. A few months ago it was great. Now I would rather had take out or just skip dinner altogether and take a nap. Thank goodness the first one happens because the second never does!
