Adam's Birthday Trip

Adam's birthday happened to fall on a Saturday this year. I suggested we go on a day trip somewhere, and he decided on St. Augustine. Ironically, February 28th was also the day of a birthday celebration for Don Pedro Menendez de Aviles, the founder of St. Augustine! He came ashore in 1565, and it is the oldest city in the US. Here is a little about our day...

Drove through Daytona on our way and realized, "It's Bike Week!!" as we were surrounded by hundreds of motorcycles. Walked on St. Augustine beach, soaked up some sun and collected a few shells for Brynn.

Had a yummy lunch at a little Cuban place where our waiter sounded exactly like Pedro from "Napoleon Dynamite"! (However, he did not offer us his protection.)

Wandered around the campus of Flagler College and admired the incredible architecture. Saw some beautiful woodwork at the Lightner museum.

Bought Adam a new belt so his pants would stop falling down! Played "Name that 80's song/artist" while driving. Spent our $10 gift card at Olive Garden. Went home and enjoyed chocolate/chocolate chip cake with the family.

It was a very unplanned, laid back day. It was possible because of my awesome parents, who spent the day with our kids and even took them to the park. Thanks!! :0)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ADAM!!!
